How to restore Samsung Galaxy S Infuse 4G to Stock ROM

The following is a step by step process of restoring the Samsung Galaxy S Infuse 4G to stock ROM. Sometimes a factory reset does not fix the issue with the phone. You will then need to perform a restore to stock ROM to fully recover it. Or if your phone is bricked during flashing, restoring to stock ROM may also fix the issue. I have personally tried the below steps and it worked for me.

  • Make sure Samsung USB driver is installed on your PC
  • Down load and unzip the file on your desktop
  • Run Odin 1.7 (run as administrator if you are on Windows 7)
  • Put the phone in download mode (Hold both volume keys and then connect to PC with USB cable)
  • Odin will should detect the phone in several seconds and show a yellow bar with com port number
  • Choose infuse.pit, PDA_UCKD5.tar.md5, PHONE_UCKD5.tar.md5 in appropriate fields
  • Press start and it shall progress and then reboot the phone. Once it's done, odin will show a green bar with "passed" and the phone will reboot
  • Congratuations, now you just flashed the phone to stock ROM

If you need further help to guide you through the process. Here's a video guide below:

How to unlock T-Mobile Vibrant 4G Samsung Galaxy S

The following is a step by step guide to unlock T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S (Vibrant 4G) to use on All GSM carriers including AT&T. I have verified every step on both Android Froyo and it had worked for me. It should work for you too. This is the easiest method i've found and it does not require you type or modify files manually. So it's safest and you will be unlikely to brick the phone.

  1. Check whether your phone is already unlocked or not. Follow the steps in my previous post.
  2. If it is not unlocked. Download and install InfuseRootUnlock_V4.zip (Windows/Linux Only)
  3. Reboot the phone.
  4. Enable the USB debugging mode on the phone in Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB Debugging
  5. Connect the phone to PC via USB and run the root.bat file
  6. It should root the phone and output a unlock code in the console. Take down the unlock code.
  7. Now disconnect the phone and insert your Non-T-Mobile sim card (AT&T sim card for example)
  8. Reboot the phone and it should ask for your network unlock code. Input the code obtained from step #6 and confirm.
  9. Now your phone should be unlocked. You can verify whether the phone is unlocked with steps described in #1.
