How to restore Samsung Galaxy S2(SGH-I777) to stock rom

The following is a step by step process of restoring the Samsung Galaxy S II (AT&T Attain I777) to stock ROM. Sometimes a factory reset does not fix the issue with the phone. You will then need to perform a restore to stock ROM to fully recover it. Or if your phone is bricked during flashing, restoring to stock ROM may also fix the issue. I have personally tried the below steps and it worked for me.

  • Make sure Samsung USB driver is installed on your PC
  • Download and unzip the file on your desktop
  • Extract and run the file (run as administrator if you are on Windows 7)
  • Put the phone in download mode (Hold both volume keys and then connect to PC with USB cable)
  • Odin will should detect the phone in several seconds and show a yellow bar with com port number
  • Press start and it shall progress and then reboot the phone. Once it's done, odin will show a green bar with "passed" and the phone will reboot
  • Congratuations, now you just flashed the phone to stock ROM

Leave a comment if it works for you!

  1. Worked perfectly! And you made it rooted by default, what more could I ask for? :)

  2. It went on well. The flash Passed. But I still see the GT-I9100 logo and it freezes there. Guess I still have the ICS PIT. Is there any way I can wipe off that PIT? Any help will be highly appreciated.

    1. Just make a hard reset it will be fine

  3. WOW!!! I'm truly amazed at what help you've been to me after I've tried many different things with my AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 and sill was able to go back to stock without any trace of me tampering. Thank you so much.

  4. the problem I run into is having the wrong Baseband Version on my phone I have found a link to the PIT file but im not sure of its function and do not want to use it if there is a chance of further damage. Basically I am unable to use the ATT network. Thanks for the help guys.
